Who are we?
First there’s Ryan Earnhardt—my partner on this venture and a person I have come to call a friend. Ryan is a small studio owner in Asheville, NC. Through his experiences, he has become an expert on home and guerrilla recording in which you get the best results you can with what you have. A self-admitted geek with a voracious appetite to learn anything and everything recording, he branched out from his studio work to produce his Creative Sound Lab Tutorials and Recording Courses in the hopes of bettering others. Whether demonstrating five different ways to re-amp a guitar signal, or how to capture a compelling drum kit using just a few mics, Ryan will be the first to tell you that he learns as much from his tutorials as his subscribers.
Then there’s me. I’m Mixerman—aka Eric Sarafin—a freelance multi Gold and Platinum award winning recordist, mixer, and producer who has worked with numerous nationally known acts in the most infamous Los Angeles studios. I approach recording from a deep musical background, and bring with me 25 years of experience in the high pressure arena of big budget major label recording. I’ve shared my many years of experience in five popular and well-regarded books published by Hal Leonard, including Zen and the Art of Mixing, Producing, and Recording.
Between us, Ryan Earnhardt and I have a knowledge base and expertise in recording, mixing, and producing that covers just about any situation you can imagine–from the technical to the practical, from the tangible to the theoretical, from the objective to the philosophical. And through that knowledge base, we have put together for you a compressive and entertaining Recording Course in which a complex sometimes technical decision-making process is distilled down to real-world pragmatism.
When Ryan and I set forth to produce How to Record Vocals That’ll Make a Grown Man Weep, we planned a lean, mean, info packed Course, that will not only improve the sonics of your vocal recordings, it will have the added benefit of helping you to pull better performances from your talent–even if you’re the talent.
Recording compelling vocals, the kind that might make a grown man weep, requires more than just willy nilly setting up any old mic any old place. On its surface, it appears to be a relatively simple process. Only one mic is required, yet somehow, capturing a great vocal, both in sonics and in performance, seems an exceptionally elusive task.
Which begs the question. Who is this course for?
- Home recordists
- Small studio owner and operator
- Learning Recordists
- Large Studio Assistants and Interns
- Audio School Students
- Weekend Warriors
- Musicians who record themselves and others
Basically, if you’re still learning how to record well (aren’t we all really?) this course is for you.
What can you expect?

In total, we’ve produced just under three hours of detailed information, explanations, demonstrations, and guided comparisons all designed to help you overcome the steep learning curve that comes with a great vocal capture. Ryan and I attack the subject matter at hand, combining the sum total of our experiences, to tell you everything we could think of on the subject of recording compelling vocals.
By the time you’re done with How to Record Vocals That’ll Make a Grown Man Weep, you will understand how the most seasoned recording pros get an amazing vocal sound. And the best part?
You can do it with what you have.
There’s no need for vintage preamps and microphones that run in the thousands of dollars. You don’t have to have an analog compressor (although we go through that). You don’t have to have a professionally designed control room. You don’t have to own the best converters in the world. Our main focus is on technique. This is what makes you valuable. The gear will follow.
So, how much will How to Record Vocals That’ll Make a Grown Man Weep run you? We gave this quite a bit of thought.
There is a veritable explosion in recording courses these days. Some of them are free, others can cost hundreds of dollars, still others offer limited editions in order to artificially increase the perceived value. And price is rarely an indication of quality. Many Courses are presented to you by people with minimal experience, either in the studio or in front of the camera—sometimes both. And so, in looking at the competition, Ryan and I decided that we’d like to offer the best quality in product that we can, for an exceptionally reasonable price of just $33.
That’s $33 for nearly 3 hours of video in which Ryan Earnhardt and I teach you everything we could think of about recording vocals.
Look, if the only thing that you get consistently right on your recordings is the vocal, you’ll be miles ahead of your competition. You’ll be more valuable as a recordist. More indispensable as a Producer. And more compelling as an Artist.
The price for that? Invaluable.
30 Day Money Back Guarantee
We want you to be completely happy with the course and coaching. If you are not happy for any reason, just email Ryan within the first 30 days from your purchase and we will refund 100% of the purchase price for this course.
No risk. The only thing you risk is not getting the course, and allowing bad vocal recordings to hold you back.
